Mudd Lake Furniture Co. is a hidden gem just twenty five miles west of the Twin Cities. Ours is a unique retail destination where you’ll find eclectic imports, sofas, chairs, accessories, artwork, lighting and more...it’s a place where people come to relax, catch up with friends and even enjoy a glass of wine!

Contributing the uniqueness of our picturesque lake farm setting is the fact that it’s run by an unlikely furniture store proprietor: an ex-NFL football player! Therefore it will come as no surprise that the most frequently asked question we hear out at Mudd Lake Furniture Co. is “How does an ex-NFL football player end up in Watertown, Minnesota running a furniture business?” Well, mine certainly has not been a traditional career transformation...but then again, I’m not a conventional sort of guy...

My decorating inspiration is my mother, Roberta Kratch. My story began with my birth in Brooklyn, New York during the 1966 New York transit strike: in labor with a 13 lb. baby, my ever resourceful mother enlisted a ride to the hospital in a local funeral director’s hearse...her creativity has been a continual source of inspiration to me.

Raising us in her humble, yet comfortable, home in Mahwah, New Jersey, my mother created a wonderful life for me and my two siblings. My mother crafted a warm home through creative, memorable Christmas decorations, beautiful painted furniture and her unabashed willingness to scour flea markets and curbside junk piles for treasures.... Roberta Kratch inspired my passion for decorating.

When you visit Mudd Lake Furniture Co. you’ll find a bohemian blend of European imports, accessories, artwork, lighting, furnishings and of course flea market finds we’ve added a little paint to create affordable heirlooms that would have made my mother proud!
